Parents Go Green

At school last week the energy team held a parents meeting which lots of parents attended! In this meeting we explained all about what we have done in the past few months and what they could do at home to save energy.

Some of the things YOU could do are:
  • Keep lights off in the day ( it’s light so you don’t need them on).
  • When you boil your kettle make sure you boil only as much water as you need. (Did you know your kettle uses 20 times as much energy as your TV! It's one of the most energy greedy things in your house!) It saves you water and energy.

If you do this it could save you up to £250 a year!!!!!

In the parents meeting we handed out different leaflets and a poster for all the parents! Kathy Tate, B&NES Sustainability Officercame and explained how the council can help YOU to save energy. We also showed the film which we also showed to the KS2 and our demonstration of what happens if you don’t save energy!

The upper school are still doing really well saving energy and now nearly every class have won the golden light bulb at least once. Now we're focusing on reducing our electricity use in the upper school week on week. Have you seen our arrow and posters in the crush hall? have a look and see how we're doing this week.
